About Dr. Raquel
Learn about my journey in dermatology, my international experience, and the philosophy that guides my patient care.

My Journey
My journey in dermatology began at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), one of Spain's most prestigious medical schools and consistently ranked among Europe's top institutions for clinical medicine. From my earliest days in medical school, I was drawn to dermatology—not just for the science of skin, but for the profound impact that skin health has on our overall wellbeing and confidence.
After completing my medical degree and dermatology specialization, I sought to expand my perspective beyond Spain. I spent several formative years working in Sweden, where I had the privilege of learning from some of Europe's leading dermatologists. The Swedish approach to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care deeply influenced my practice philosophy. I observed how Swedish clinics prioritized thorough patient education, long-term outcomes, and a collaborative approach to treatment planning.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to staying at the forefront of dermatological research and innovation. I have attended numerous international dermatology conferences, where I've had the opportunity to present my clinical findings and learn from colleagues worldwide. These conferences have exposed me to cutting-edge research on hair loss treatments, laser therapy, and emerging dermatological techniques.
My Philosophy
Patient-Centered Care
I believe that dermatology is not merely about treating skin conditions—it's about understanding the person behind the skin. Every patient who walks into my clinic has a unique story, unique concerns, and unique skin. What works for one person may not work for another, which is why I take time to truly understand each patient's situation before recommending treatment.
Evidence-Based Medicine
Every treatment recommendation I make is backed by clinical research and international best practices. I don't recommend treatments simply because they're popular or because a pharmaceutical company markets them aggressively. I recommend treatments because the evidence supports their effectiveness.
Continuous Learning
The field of dermatology is constantly evolving. New treatments emerge, research findings shift our understanding, and technology advances. I remain committed to staying current through conference attendance, reading peer-reviewed literature, and consulting with international colleagues.

Why I Do This
Every day, I'm reminded of why I chose dermatology. It's not just about treating skin conditions—it's about restoring confidence, improving quality of life, and helping people feel comfortable in their own skin. I'm committed to providing the highest standard of care, backed by evidence and delivered with compassion.
